Clockwork Band plays a concert on July 4, 1997. Check out this classic live performance.
In addition to the countless covers we played, we often took a stab at doing our own originals and What Time Is by Oscar Lloro was one of them. This 45rpm, with the B-side being Quieres Tu Bailar (My Latin Hustle) was released on December 3rd, 1975. It was our first and was recorded at […]
One of our more successful releases was a 45rpm disco version of the classic song Volare witten by D. Modugno. Side B was Lloraras, written by R. Ramirez, the most requested “slow” song we performed. It was recorded at Sound Triangle’s M&M Studios in Hialeah Florida and was released on February 12, 1976.
There was plenty of sweat equity going on in those days in order to get in the business, but we were very fortunate to have an extremely profession Clockwork Management system in place, by both Walter B. Walters and Dick and Loius Lowy out of Hialeah, Florida. They kept us employed, busy and in demand almost […]
Doing a recording for a band is probably one of the most exciting, rewarding and tenuous goals a group can have. Even today. But back in the early seventies it was not so easy to come by. Our First album was a self titled release called Clockwork. By today’s standards it was super low-tech, but […]
As mentioned in The First Album post, Duane Munera was the illustrator for our first self-titled release. There was a considerable discussion as to what the cover would be prior to the concept and design done by the drummer, Carlos Segura. Many of the ideas have been lost to time, but below are some sketches […]
March 30, 1975. The Big-5 Club was established in 1968 and was an event in those days. It was the place to be for young people but was also an ideal family event. It’s still there, at 600 Southwest 92nd Avenue, Miami, Florida.

Clockwork made many performances at The Castaways, which had ten acres of oceanfront relaxation on 163rd Street in Miami Beach, Florida. It grew to 540 oversized guest rooms and kitchenettes, 3 pools plus 2 kiddy wading pools, 700 ft. of private beach, 2 coffee shops, spectacular Shinto Temple Dining Room, unique Wreck Bar, private boat […]
As expected, we all moved on and got busy with “life”. While there was substantial separation involved (especially me, who moved to Chicago in 1980) the connection remained in our hearts. In 2008, I started to spend the winters here in Miami and we finally got around to setting up a reunion in February of […]
Here is a little peek of how it was in Miami during the 1970’s Open House days which not only included Clockwork but also great bands such as Antique, Coke, Conjunto Impacto, Ecstacy, Heaven, Mantrap, Miami Sound Machine, Opus, Pearly Queen, The Judges Nephews, Wild Wind and World of Matter, to name a few. Even […]
In 1975, Clockwork recorded its first album at M&M Studios in Hialeah, Florida.
The original Clockwork band from Miami is back. The first rehearsal happened a few days ago, and there will be much more to come soon.
